The Syracuse Press Club presented two Sewlyn Kershaw Professional Standards Awards. This year's recipients were WSTM-TV Anchor Matt Mulcahy and Syracuse Post Standard music critic Mark Bialczak.

The club also honored  Post Standard photography director Nick
Lisi and WRVO radio news director Chris Ulanowski with lifetime achievement awards.

Three young professionals were also honored for their efforts as newcomers;  WSTM sports reporter/anchor Niko Tamurian, WSYR-TV photographer/reporter Kevin Torres, and WRVO radio reporter/anchor Jason Smith.

Onondaga County Health Commissioner Dr. Cynthia Morrow received the Philip A. Hofmann President's Award for Best News Source.

   The club also awarded two scholarships to Keith T. Edelman a sophomore at SUNY Oswego who is pursuing a B.A. in journalism . And David M. Taube a -Junior at the S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University who is pursuing a triple major in magazine journalism, philosophy and psychology
